Star Appeal - UNHCR

UNHCR’s Christmas Star Appeal is now in its fourth year. This year, the appeal will benefit the world’s forgotten refugee children and their families who find themselves far from home this Christmas. Selecting one or more of our five gifts will direct funds towards specific projects. For example, by spending just $12 you can provide textbooks, exercise books and pencils for a student for a year. By purchasing warm blankets or an all-season tent you'll be contributing to our emergency relief projects - and with seeds and tools, you'll be directing funds towards agriculture and self sufficiency projects to help refugees feed themselves in the long term. And with your donation of a community well you will be contributing to our water projects for clean, safe drinking water for an entire community.

How do I choose a gift?

There are 4 simple steps to purchase your gift:

Step1: Select the gift or gifts you would like and then specify the quantity you’d like to purchase and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: You have the option to send an e-card to a nominated e-mail address.

Step 3: Once you’ve completed contact details for the e-card, you are then able to review your shopping basket and complete payment details. The payment process is a secure encrypted process. If you have any queries about payment security, please visit FAQ’s.

Step 4: Once payment details are complete, we provide an opportunity to write on our Star Appeal "wall." These messages of support will be sent to our colleagues in the field who will share them with refugees they assist.
